The executive said: “This year we intend to open up new markets in Latin America – Chile and Argentina. We have some thoughts about Colombia and Brazil but we will be able to talk about it in 2019-2020. There are also plans to take serious steps in Asia. Understanding the importance of the Latin American market, we set up a company of our own over there last year to promote and sell vehicles. Various options are available, including payment by installment and leasing. Customers can also sign rent contracts.”
Denis Yaskevich also talked about plans to make more vehicles: “One should evaluate the performance of vehicles with the carrying capacity of 90 tonnes and above and up to 450 tonnes. Last year we made over 600 haul trucks. We intend to make 850 this year. To compare, we made 200-300 haul trucks like that per annum in 2008-2009.”
BelAZ has made only one 290-tonne haul truck so far. It is going through the testing process now. With this new vehicle available, the Belarusian company boasts the world's largest product range of haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 30-450 tonnes. The demand is strongest for 130-tonne trucks.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ is the world's top manufacturer of haul trucks with a large and extremely large carrying capacity as well as other heavy transport equipment used in mining industry and civil engineering industry. In 2017 BelAZ was ranked second among the manufacturers of mining vehicles in terms of heavy-duty haul truck sales.
