MAZ and Czech Tatra discuss the joint development of an all-wheel drive chassis

MAZ and Czech Tatra may be engaged in the creation of an all-wheel drive chassis, the company’s press service said after a visit to the Minsk Automobile Plant representatives of the Czech company. The delegation led by Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tatra Trucks Petr Rusek visited the MAZ automotive exhibition, where the latest innovations of Minsk production were demonstrated. Later, the Czech side was involved in the negotiations with the Director of Strategic Development of EXCALIBUR International a.s. Milan Jurek and representative of the Russian-Czech Mixed Chamber of Commerce Vladimir Ermakov. "The parties discussed cooperation, the possibility of combining production facilities and creating a joint product - an all-wheel drive chassis," the press service noted.


As they said at the plant, given the long-standing cooperation and experience of the two largest manufacturers of automotive equipment, mutual interest was expressed in using commodity distribution networks of enterprises to promote both their own automotive equipment and joint products on world markets.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed and the creation of working groups for a detailed study of interaction.

Minsk Automobile Plant is one of the largest Belarusian machine-building enterprises that specializes in the production of heavy vehicles, special equipment, buses, trolleybuses and trailers. The MAZ trade mark is widely known in the CIS and far abroad. The equipment meets the environmental standards of Euro-5, 6. Truck tractors, flatbed vehicles, chassis for installing various special equipment go off the assembly line of the plant - more than 500 models and modifications in total.
