The joint company "MAZ-Weichai" was established by two enterprises - the flagships of Belarus and China-Minsk automobile plant and Weichai Corporation. Construction of the plant began in April 2018. The plant provides for small Assembly of motors of Euro-5 and Euro-6 standards for trucks, special vehicles and buses. Production capacity in single-shift mode will be 10 thousand engines per year, with two-shift mode, it is possible to increase it to 20 thousand engines per year. By the end of 2019, it is planned to produce and sell 1.3 thousand engines. The company will meet the needs not only of the Belarusian automotive industry, but will also be able to supply products to the markets of the CIS and foreign countries.
In addition, in July this year in the industrial Park "Great stone" began construction of the Belarusian-Chinese plant for the production of mechanical transmissions. For management of construction and future plant the joint venture - LLC Fast-MAZ is created. Its founders were MAZ and Shaanxi Fast Gear, part of the Weichai holding. The project cost $17 million Funding will be mutual: 70% of investing the Chinese side, 30% - Belarusian. Under the future plant allocated a plot of 3.3 hectares. the Company will be able to produce more than 10 thousand. gearboxes per year when working in one shift.
